Château du Blason
Visited in 2021
Duration of visit : 1 hour
This château dates back to the 14th century and has been in the same family for centuries. The last resident was a journalist, writer, philosopher and poet. He passed away at the end of the 1990’s and a couple of years later his château was sold. Unfortunately it was left abandoned and the building has suffered a lot from the elements.
As I approached the building through the bushes I noticed a car in front of the château and some men clearing vegetation outside. I sat in the bushes for over half an hour, hoping they would leave. After a while a small group of people came walking onto the premises and disappeared at the back of the château.
A group of volunteers is now taking care of the château and they occasionally open it to the public. The building has an alarm system and cameras inside.
