Bureau d’Or

The Bureau d’Or was built near the end of the 19th century and got expanded around the 1930’s in a 17th century style to match the château nextdoor. It served as the administration building for the adjecent blast furnace.

The interior features a number of stunning staircases and spacious hallways, not to forget the breathtaking central hall with enormous skylight. In the 1980’s the immense building closed its doors for the last time.

Today, only a couple of left behind typewriters and piles of old files tell the story of the monumental building. Large pieces of plaster have come crumbling down from the walls and ceiling. Slowly the building is falling apart, will it ever see its former glory again?
