About

Yup, that’s me. My interest in photography started when I got my first disposable camera around the age of 10. After finishing highschool I ended up following a study in photography and I got my first DSLR camera. It was during this study that I discovered urbex. I started looking for abandoned places online and slowly I gathered more and more locations I wanted to visit. By August that year I had enough locations for a small trip of two days in Belgium.
After this first trip, I was hooked: a lot of my free time was spent looking for more and better locations. Searching for hours and hours to find a location is not an exception (but worth it in the end!). The urbextrips every year got longer, from just two days to full weeks of exploring. In the first years of exploring I visited many spots in Belgium and France. Last year I made a trip through Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary and this year I went to Italy for the fourth time. Getting into locations got harder, from simply walking through the bushes and through the front door, now crawling through tunnels and infiltrating active properties. This peculiar hobby isn’t for everyone, but I wouldn’t want to do anything else.
Some of locations we visit are extraordinary, to say the least. We come by buildings of cultural heritage and historical importance, simply left to rot because there is no money for renovations. We’ve found hotels which couldn’t keep up with modern standards and were left abandoned, now with rooms green of the mold and with furniture still inside. These kind of locations continue to amaze. It’s sad to see once lively places in this state of decay. Yet, decay is a beautiful thing. It’s simply amazing to venture into a world where nature is in charge, slowly reclaiming everything we’ve built. Below, you’ll find some of my favorite places I’ve explored over the last years. Go ahead, check them out and if you really like these places, consider following me on Facebook or Instagram. See you there! 🙂
