Cinema d’Altri Tempi

Visited in 2022
Duration of visit : 2,5 hours

Right on the main street of a small Italian village, surrounded by shops and restaurants, lies this forgotten cinema. Because of its location right on a busy streets, with cars driving by and people on the terraces it was a challenge to get in quick and unseen.

We found a way to enter the cinema, which originally opened its doors in the 50’s. It was once filled with several hundreds of visitors, with seats on the main floor and on the balcony. Today, the wooden seats are slowly falling apart.

The cinema was rather small, with only some narrow corridors backstage. To our surprise we found two large Fedi-projectors in the projector room on the balcony, still in good shape.

The last movie was shown here in the 70’s. After the abandonment, the building was used for storage and eventually left to decay.
