Centrale Piccola Torre

Duration of visit : 1,5 hours
In the 50’s, this thermoelectric power plant was built. It used the lignite extracted from the adjacent mining field to fuel the turbines. Because of the lignite running out, a new power plant was built just around the corner. This one closed down in 2001. The turbines were dismantled and a part of the building was demolished. Inside the massive building only the control room remains. On the site there is a small cooling tower, as well as some smaller empty buildings. Vandals unfortunately found their way onto the premises and left their marks all over the place.
